RMLearns

A placement preparation platform covering aptitude, data structures, coding and English — with progress that persists, review scheduled by what you got wrong, and jobs attached to the practice.

For Engineering students preparing for placements

Origin

Why it exists.

Placement preparation is scattered across a dozen tabs, and most of it is a list of problems with no memory of what you already understood. RMLearns exists because practice without tracking is just reading, and because a student two weeks from an interview needs a path rather than an index.

Inside

Four practice modules.

English

Placement-level reading and writing, with staged exercises and a review queue.

Aptitude

Quantitative and logical reasoning organised by category, with teaching alongside the questions.

DSA

Structured problem sets by topic, each with curated resources rather than a bare link list.

Coding

Daily problems with a deliberate limit, so preparation is paced instead of binged and abandoned.

Decisions

What makes it work.

The features below are the ones that changed behaviour, not the ones that were easiest to build.

Progress that persists

Streaks, XP and a performance grid across all four modules. Returning users see what they built rather than starting from a blank page.

Spaced repetition

Review is scheduled by what you got wrong and when, not by what you happened to finish last.

A daily limit, on purpose

The coding module caps how much you can attempt in a day. Preparation fails from burnout far more often than from lack of material.

Jobs attached

A jobs board connected to the practice, so the preparation stays pointed at the roles it is for.

An assistant that knows the context

Help that can see the problem you're on, rather than a general chatbot bolted to the corner of the screen.

Notes where you're working

Per-problem notes kept with the problem, because the insight is worthless if it's in a different app.

Why this matters to you

What running it taught us.

This is the part that transfers. Building a product you have to live with teaches things that delivering one never does.

Retention is an engineering problem

Streaks, review scheduling and pacing did more for completion than any amount of additional content. We bring that instinct to client products: the feature that makes people come back is rarely the one that gets requested.

Limits are a feature

Capping daily problems was the least popular decision and the most effective one. Saying no inside a product is a design skill, and it's the one clients hire us to have.

We run what we recommend

We operate this product on the same stack and discipline we recommend to clients. Advice we haven't had to take ourselves is just an opinion.
